Weiss Architects served as interior architect for the renovation of 46,000 square feet on three floors in Chicago's Michigan Avenue retail district. The project involved the gutting of a former Disneyquest urban theme park, turning it into a premier home furnishings store, connected visually with the surrounding streets and organized internally for maximum retail effect.
Weiss filled its role on a team that included two separate owners, an exterior building renovation architect, a store planner, two MEP engineering firms, a structural engineer and a negotiated, fast-track general contractor. The entire project, including several layers of permitting, was accomplished for an on-time opening.
